Category:

Stabilizer, also known as centralizer, is a tool for stabilizing downhole drilling tools and preventing deflection, a device connected to a section of drill pipe string close to the large-diameter drilling tool, to stabilize the drilling direction. It is also an important tool for preventing well deviation changes in oil, natural gas and geological exploration drilling projects.

Application

In the case of using a more rigid drill collar and applying a greater weight

on bit, reasonably using the stabilizer can reduce the rate of change in well

deviation and azimuth, avoid the occurrence of “dogleg” well patterns, and

improve the quality of the well & drilling speed, reducing drilling costs.
